A lightweight beard butter for coarse or dry facial hair, formulated with mango, cupuaçu, murumuru, and sal butters, supported by Folium’s conditioning oil blend and developed with sensitive skin in mind. Naturally rich in fatty acids, the formula conditions and softens the beard, adds light control, and helps keep the skin beneath comfortable, without heaviness.
No added fragrance. No essential oils. No wax. Its scent is only the natural odor of the butters and oils inside the formula, present for a moment, then gone.
Seasonal texture note:
During warmer months, LUMEN Butter is made slightly firmer to better withstand heat in transit and storage. The formula still melts readily between the hands and performs the same once applied.

Mango Butter Rich in stearic and oleic fatty acids, mango butter gives LUMEN body and structure while helping keep the texture smooth and creamy.
Cupuaçu Butter A creamy Brazilian butter with an unusual water-binding capacity. Published research reports that cupuaçu butter could support up to 440% of its weight in water before separating, outperforming shea butter and lanolin under the same test conditions. That material property was one of the reasons we chose it over shea for LUMEN.
In LUMEN, it contributes to a softer melt, a richer conditioned feel, and less of the heavy, waxy drag common in many beard butters.

Murumuru Butter Harvested from the Amazonian palm, murumuru butter is rich in lauric and myristic fatty acids, the same lipid family behind coconut oil’s famously soft conditioning feel.
In LUMEN, it gives the butter slip, smoothness, and control without the heavy, greasy finish we wanted to avoid.
Sal Butter Rich in stearic and oleic fatty acids, sal butter gives LUMEN structure and stability while contributing to a smooth, conditioned finish. It also helps reduce moisture loss from the beard and skin beneath.
Signature Oil Blend The same conditioning oil architecture used in Folium beard oil: macadamia, camellia, abyssinian, marula, kukui, meadowfoam, and a small amount of castor oil. In LUMEN Butter, it helps the four-butter base spread easily through coarse hair while keeping the finished texture soft, flexible, and creamy.

Vitamin E Used at a low level as an antioxidant to help slow oxidation and support the stability of the oils and butters in the formula.
HOW TO USE
Warm a small amount between the palms until softened.
Apply directly to the beard, starting near the roots and working through to the ends. Comb or brush through for even distribution.
If you’re pairing it with a beard oil, allow 5–10 minutes for the oil to settle before applying. This layering method helps maximize softness, conditioning, and styling control.

Temperature Note
Because LUMEN is made with natural plant butters, it is sensitive to temperature. In warm conditions, the butter may soften or melt during transit. If this happens, place the closed jar upright in the refrigerator for 30–60 minutes, or until the butter has firmed back up, then allow it to return to room temperature before use.
A slightly grainy texture can sometimes occur when natural butters cool at different rates. This is normal and does not affect the quality or performance of the formula.

Beard butter conditions coarse, dry-feeling hair, helping it feel softer, smoother, and less brittle. It may also ease itch or light flaking when dryness is the cause. Persistent redness, greasy scaling, broken skin, or recurring irritation may have another cause and shouldn't be treated as dryness alone. The American Academy of Dermatology notes that moisturizing can ease dryness-related itch. Persistent beard dandruff may require targeted treatment and should be discussed with a dermatologist.
Beard oil is lighter and easier to work down to the skin beneath, making it well suited to everyday conditioning. Beard butter is richer and works more through the hair itself, suited to coarse or dry-feeling beards that need more. Beard balm usually relies on wax for shape and hold; LUMEN contains no beeswax and provides only light control without a coated, waxy finish.
LUMEN Butter can be used daily, but the right frequency depends on your beard's length, texture, and dryness, as well as your environment. Start with a small amount after washing or showering, then adjust as needed. Coarse or dry-feeling beards may benefit from daily use, especially in dry or cold climates or with long hours in air-conditioned spaces, while softer or shorter beards may need it only every few days. It can also be used at night as a richer conditioning step.
No cosmetic product can be guaranteed not to clog pores or cause irritation for every person. LUMEN contains no added fragrance, or essential oils, but botanical oils and butters can still affect individuals differently. Use a small amount mainly through the beard, patch test before full use, and discontinue use if irritation or breakouts occur. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends fragrance-free products for sensitive or easily irritated skin.
