A fragrance-free beard oil composed for daily conditioning and for those whose skin asks for less. Without fragrance or essential oils, LUMEN removes one common potential source of irritation from the routine, leaving only the oils themselves to do their work.
Built with macadamia, camellia, abyssinian, marula, kukui, meadowfoam, a small amount of castor oil, and vitamin E. The blend brings together oils with a broad range of fatty acids to care for coarse or dry facial hair and the skin beneath, leaving the beard soft and supple without a greasy finish.
Its scent is only the natural character of the botanical oils inside, present briefly, then gone.

THE FORMULA
Macadamia Nut Oil Rich in oleic and palmitoleic fatty acids, the latter uncommon among plant oils and also present in human skin lipids. In LUMEN, macadamia provides deep conditioning and softness without weighing the formula down.
Camellia Seed Oil Naturally rich in oleic acid, one of the fatty acids found in human sebum. In LUMEN, camellia contributes clean spread, smooth slip, and comfort beneath the beard.
Abyssinian Oil Pressed from Crambe abyssinica seed and notably rich in erucic acid, an unusually long-chain fatty acid that can make up more than half of the oil’s fatty-acid profile. Abyssinian is valued in formulation for its silky slip and smooth afterfeel. In LUMEN, it adds shine and helps balance the richer oils, leaving the beard smoother and easier to manage.
Marula Oil High in oleic acid, with smaller amounts of palmitic, linoleic, palmitoleic, and stearic fatty acids. Marula also contains naturally occurring tocopherols and other minor antioxidant compounds. In LUMEN, it contributes a rich, supple feel that helps condition dry-feeling beard hair without weighing the blend down.
Kukui Nut Oil Unusually high in polyunsaturated fatty acids, particularly linoleic acid, giving kukui a lighter sensory profile than the more oleic-rich oils in the blend. In LUMEN, it contributes softness and helps balance the richer conditioning oils without adding weight.
Meadowfoam Oil Dominated by unusually long-chain fatty acids and noted for its oxidative stability. Chosen to help preserve the freshness of the blend while giving the beard a smooth finish and soft sheen.
Castor Oil Naturally rich in ricinoleic acid, the fatty acid that gives castor oil its distinctive body and viscosity. Used sparingly in LUMEN to add cushion and persistence without making the blend feel sticky or heavy.
Vitamin E Added at a low level as an antioxidant, helping protect the oils in the blend from oxidation and support overall stability.
